April Showers ...

Mid-Spring Garden

After a very mild winter, the tulips performed rather poorly this year.
This pretty orange flower blooms in mid-spring.
This ground cover spreads quickly to cover up dry areas where the soil is of poor quality.

Here's a close-up of the pretty yellow flowers which bloom in spring.

Here the ferns push their way up through the soil.

A week later they've filled in nicely.

A downy woodpecker visits the suet cage.

That it's a male downy woodpecker is evidenced by the red color on the back of its head.
