Quilt Glossary defines 9
Patch quilts as ‘a basic division of a geometric quilt square into 9 equal
squares. Think of a tic-tac-toe grid. Within the grid, additional
divisions can take place.’ Examples of 9 Patch quilts are the Irish
Chain and Disappearing
