IT IS CALLED A BAPTIST FAN QUILT BLOCK...IT IS A 35/45" BABY QUILT.
SAW THIS ON P INTEREST, MADE BY MELINDA QUILTS ETC...I HAVE USED A TOTAL OF 9 PRINTS.
THE CHALLENGE WAS TO MAKE A BLACK&WHITE AND ANOTHER COLOUR QUILT AND I CHOSE RED TO GO WITH BLACK&WHITE
HAVE USED 2.5" SQUARES AND HST'S TO MAKE UP THE BLOCK.

| Star Quilt by Madhu Mathur This is also my first quilt - made for my son. The pattern is from a BHG Vol 4 of quilts.Used Jaipur muslins to make it. I added the checkboard border as the quilt was not large enough. It is hand quilted. I tried not to repeat any hand quilting pattern except in the outermost rows - made up most of them. |

This quilt was made using a pattern I picked up at a quilt show a few years ago. It took me a few years to get back to this project but I finally got it done a few months ago. Its actually a wall hanging rather than a full quilt. The pattern is from Three Swans Studios. I used all batiks and since I used scraps left over from other projects.
